Trailblazers: Wes Anderson
Trailblazers is back! This week we feature the great Wes Anderson, best known for his distinctive visual and narrative style. I am a massive fan of Wes, and I know Dan is too so we had to get the team back together for this one.
If you are familiar with Wes Anderson you’ll think of the beauty and symmetry of his camera shots, as well as the quirky characters that never fail to capture the curiosity and imagination of viewers. I can’t pick my favourite Wes Anderson film but I really like Fantastic Mr Fox, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Life Aquatic, just to name a few.
I have chosen to feature Wes Anderson as a Trailblazer not only because I’m a huge fan, but because of the way in which the originality of his work has influenced popular culture. This influence can be seen in anything from fashion adverts to music videos. And we all know that we personally strive for that perfect Wes Anderson style Instagram aesthetic.
Individuality and uniqueness needs to be celebrated and for that reason Wes Anderson becomes my third Trailblazer. Listen to this podcast to see how you may have been influenced by Wes Anderson in your own life.
