The Big Show: Suicide Guarantee
This week on The Big Show we caught up with Michelle and Johnny who ran across the widest part of Great Britain to help raise awareness for the Suicide Guarantee campaign. Join us to learn more about the campaign which aims to ensure that there is procedures to treat people that are suicidal in all A&E departments.
We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with real-life superheroes Michelle and Johnny, who ran the longest width of Great Britain to raised awareness for suicide prevention in the UK. The pair had been working with the ‘Suicide Guarantee’ campaign, which aims to ensure that there are procedures in place to support people that visit A&E when having suicidal thoughts.
Suicide is an emergency and it should be treated with the same care as when someone has a physical injury. There are some A&E departments that are great for dealing with the issue, but there are too many that aren’t.
We were lucky enough to be invited to be invited to Parliament for a committee discussion that was lead by all of the people behind the Suicide Guarantee campaign. It was amazing to experience not only the bravery, but the positivity of people that had experienced issues relating to suicide, whether that be in their own lives or from people around them.
Join us on this episode of The Big Show to learn more about the Suicide Guarantee, and to hear about the outstanding effort of the contagiously positive Michelle and Johnny as they ran across the UK for a great cause.
