No Talk. All Action. This is what exactly happened during 54 hours at Startup Weekend Lahore. This event was organized jointly by folks at SPADES, LUMS and Confiz Solution.

Dear Entrepreneur, Are You The First One to Cross River?

I recall being in early teens, throwing food for crows. It starts with a crow, who sees it first and then it calls others, and then the whole group waits till the most hungry one jump on the food. In next moments you see every one is on the food.

The same nature I have noticed in other species, as if I’m not on my computer, I’m most probably on National Georaphic or any other wild life TV. I want to state, I have observed it quite often.

Why Dropout Magazine, And Why We At Startup Weekend Lahore

From a rural area of Punjab, I somehow managed to get admission for my BS at FC College. In first semester, I earned 3.8 GPA. But then I started doing something more than classes. I was spending more of my time in library and computer lab. I had not my own PC or Laptop, so I was staying at computer lab till 9:30pm.

It continued and next year, my teachers did not allow me to sit for exams as per my very poor attendance. So I was dropped out after 2nd year, but I stayed there for almost 4 years, as I could use library to read Forbes & HBR Magazine and computers.

It helped changed me completely.

Now I have managed to start a startup. With some seed funding.

And today here at LUMS I am founding Dropout Magazine. I want more students to know that there is more energy, skills and potential in us rather than just doing any degree.

1. WHAT IS DROPOUT MAGAZINE ABOUT

First, what we are not. We are not here to encourage everyone to dropout of college. Continue reading
